Hi! I'm Jessica Klimesh, owner of JEK Writing Studio, a business born out of my love for writing and, especially, the writing process. I launched what was originally called JEK Proofreading and Editing in January 2019 after having taught ESL (English as a Second Language) and writing classes in varying capacities, including at the university level, for 5+ years. I hold an MFA in Creative Writing and an MA in English, and have 20+ years of editorial experience across genres, from academic and technical writing, including theses and dissertations, to poetry, memoir, fiction, and creative nonfiction. My own creative writing has been widely published and was anthologized in Best Microfiction 2025 and Best of the Net 2025. I am also the co-editor/co-founder of Hot Flash Literary, a journal of flash fiction (and creative nonfiction) by writers who identify as women.

The Power Hour is the perfect opportunity to brainstorm about particular problem areas, whether those are general problem areas (e.g., struggling with writing dialogue) or areas specific to a particular piece of writing.

The Writing Coach Power Hour
The Writing Coach Power Hour is a 1:1 one-hour writing coach session with the goal of keeping your writing on track—or getting it back on track if it's derailed.
The Power Hour session can be used for brainstorming or to address a variety of issues, including but not limited to:

What's Included?
You have the option to send me a writing sample of up to 1000 words before the Zoom call. The work could be a piece you're having difficulty with, or it could simply be a sample that you believe showcases your writing abilities. The writing sample is best if it can stand on its own (i.e., doesn't need lots of context). You must send this sample at least 24 hours before our scheduled call.
You don't have to write alone.
